Helping Your Teen To Succeed At CTC
Help from parents / guardians in the following areas is greatly appreciated:
Preparation | Ensure that the CTC and After School Matters (ASM) applications are complete. Validate that the teen's schedule can accomodate CTC programming time commitments. Learn about the program. |
Equipment | Practice requires a few personal items such as a loose, comfortable shirt, shorts, socks and sneakers. |
Schedule | Your teen's succes in the program is, in part, a function of the regimen CTC establishes. Help your teen to meet the schedule. Our trips complement training and tutoring. Learn about upcoming trips and help your teen prepare for them. |
Encourage | CTC participants begin the program with varied athletic backgrounds. We work with the UIC Human Performance Lab to record and track progress and encourage competition. Help us to encourage your teen to work toward measurable improvement. |
Evaluate | CTC programming is designed to enhance your teen's academic success not challenge it. Help evaluate that your teen is progressing at school. |
Participate | The CTC operates on a limited budget thanks to a significant amount of volunteer support. Consider how you might be able to help us to tutor students, coach or plan and work on CTC events. We could also use your support in our letter writing campaign to build a community boating center. click here |
