CTC FAQ - TrainingHow Will I Train?
The Chicago Training Center (CTC) program is designed to teach you to row and to excel at rowing. You will begin by learning to swim, if you do not already know how to swim. Once you are qualified to swim, you will train three days each week to learn about rowing/sculling technique, learn about indoor rowing machines (ergs) and to practice on ergs.

Once you have become proficient rowing on an erg, you will learn to row in a boat on the water. You will continue erg training to develop your strength. You will also learn about diet and nutrition and be monitored by the UIC Human Performance Lab to track your progress.
