The Tiro Cup is the first cup of its kind. Named after the latin word for new soldier or recruit, this cup aims at bringing our city's novices together in competition.

The Tiro Cup was created to support the novice squads in teams across the Greater Chicago area. The cup will be awarded to the top team that is represented by both novice girls and novice boys. To be eligible for the trophy your team must have at least 5 girls and 5 boys compete - but all competitors will be allowed to race and have scores recorded. Each team must present their squad list with projected ERG scores one week prior to the event. All competitors will then be seeded. The race will cover 2,000M and the end ranking will be determined by the average split of each team's girls and boys group.

The winner will gain ownership of the cup for one year, after which the cup must be returned for its defense or forfeited.
